Guess I'm going to have to find out how to take all the wires off the old pot and put it on the new one.

Ive been trying to unsolder a wire from the pot for half an hour...do you think I just don't have a hot enough soldering iron? Should I just cut the wires from the pot?

OK, I've been trying to unsolder the black wires from the pot...just figured out that this is not what should be done, I think. Hopefully I didn't damage the black wire and whatever it does.

OK, I'm going to stop here. I scraped the pickguard, the knob, probably damaged the black wire and god knows what else.

I'm going to take it in to someone who knows what to do.
