A Chromium Lament

“A Chromium Lament”

Sung to the melody of “The Sound Of Silence”

Hello Firefox my old friend
I’ve come to browse with you again
Because the browser I waaaas screening
Showed me ads while I waaaas streaming
Now the cookiiiies won’t stop trackiiiing my domains
On mainframes

Because of Aaaaaalphabet’s nonsense

On my desktop and iPhone
All this waiting makes me moan
All I want is to watch cat videos
Or someone pushing objects up their nose
But I have to watch some ads for things that no one wants to buy
Why else would they try

Do they thiiiink we’re stupid

Why? Chrome will be disabling ad blockers in 2023. You can get Firefox here.

I've never used Chrome, being perfectly satisfied with Firefox, and only using MS Edge when it's absolutely necessary. The upcoming disabling of ad blockers in Chrome give me yet another reason to avoid that browser.

I currently use Chrome with Ghostery add blocker on Ubuntu Mate Linux.

I used Firefox for years but switched to Chrome a while back when Firefox was hogging all the RAM. Once the add blocker no longer functions Chrome will definitely have go, it might be time to try Opera.

Careful with that. Opera is currently based on Chromium, which is what Chrome, Edge, and others are based on.

Thanks for the info Ken, I knew that Chrome was based on Chromium (so obvious even I can work that out) but didn't know that Opera was.
