Obligatory pictures. It's for pictures of YOUR G&L basses.

This is the main discussion and technical forum for G&L and Tribute by G&L basses. Please limit the discussion to G&L and Tribute by G&L. Simple questions regarding mods are okay, but really belong in the EBA or Paul's Technicalities.

Please; no links to other forums except as noted in the forum guidelines. Discussion of new instrument MSRP is okay, as is discussion of options pricing. However, there shall be no discussion of MAP or final negotiated pricing for new instruments. Used pricing is generally fair game.

No sales or advertisements, no matter how well veiled, are permitted - not even a pointer elsewhere.

Please start a thread about this so we can discuss it outside of this pictures thread.

Thanks!

[img][/img]Haven't owned a G&L for 20 years. Picked this one up a couple of days ago. Question, how can I tell if these are the original pickups

You'd have to lift it and hope there's some mark on the underside. I believe the early LB-100/Legacy basses used a Gotoh split pickup. In response to the question I saw in the FB post about neck tilt, you'd turn the adjuster to the right until you get the tilt you need. There isn't really a conversion to shim thickness. BTW - you can use shims here rather than the Precision Tilt if you want. Whichever method you choose, please give this a read before starting.

BTW - Facebook-hosted images are a pain to link in to an old school forum like BassesByLeo. Please consider hosting your images on IMGUR.COM. Thanks.

I was eyeballing that bass and repeatedly reminding myself that I already have an LB-100 and shouldn't buy that just because I wanted a red one.

To keep the picture thread relatively uncluttered and to avoid duplicating previous conversation, check this thread. Many of your questions may be answered.
