I found out the other day this bass was made on my 41st Wedding aniversary ( Month, year) and was the 020149th made
I have tried my favorite flats (TI Jazz Flats) on this bass and while they are ok this bass seems to be made for D'Addario's that came stock. I went back with medium gauge EXL 160's on this bass. Loving the tone.

Hello to all, I bought an SB-1 about a year ago, and really like it. I just bought an M-2000 used, mostly because I wanted a black bass. I guess typically, I've become kind of hooked on the G&L brand. I have an L-2000 on order I wont get till mid 2022, so I'll have to survive with these beasts until then. Take care everyone, Brad E.

I recently bought a Tribute LB-100 to keep my CLF L-1000 company. So this is my current G&L lineup.

Hi All!

I've been scouring the forum here for some time now and love the amount of G&L info I've learned, but I haven't yet introduced myself nor posted any pics. In fact I've had several NBDs in this time, but ADHD is a PITA so...

I was born in Fullerton and lived less than a mile from Fender Ave... But that was before the internets and while I knew of Fender I didn't realize it was THAT Fender. Ugh.
Fast forward a couple decades and about 1200 miles, I discovered G&L. Not knowing anything about them, once I saw it was Leo's last company AND from my hometown, how could I not be interested?

I picked up a Tribute L2000 in 2006 and was instantly hooked. I was still fairly new to playing bass so it was more about feel and overall oomph more than tonal options. I acquired a couple other basses over the years, but always wanted another G&L. A USA would be awesome but I'm kinda frugal (or cheap if you will), so when those stimulus checks started rolling out I figured I could get a couple more Tribbies for the same amount as a USA. And so I did.

So now we have:
2019 L2000
2020 JB
2020 L2500
2006 L2000 - MIK with the thinner neck and a G&L stamped bridge, white G&L logo but no "TRIBUTE" on the headstock. From what I've gathered here, I'm thinking it's kinda like a hybrid Korea & Indonesia build (?). S/N is 0604xxxx

Thanks to everyone here, and especially Ken, for all the great information.
