Archive info on a 1980 L-1000

Postby gbrooding » Mon Nov 04, 2019 1:48 pm

Will G&L have info on a bass from 1980? Such as date sold, repair/warranty work, etc? If so, is 714 897-6766 the correct number to call?

Thank you!

It's unlikely that G&L has the logs. When the late Dale Hyatt left the company he took the production logs with him. While he was alive he would, for $35, peer into the logs for a specific serial number and write a nice little letter describing the log entry. Now that he's passed, the logs are in parts unknown. Gabe Dellevigne (ex of GuitarsByLeo) may be in possession of them, but I don't know that to be a fact and I do not know how to contact him.

Actually, there were two sets of logs. Dale Hyatt's copy I believe is, or was, in St. Louis? Dave McLaren has the other copy.
