Brand new L2500: bad specimen?

Postby ctromp » Tue Mar 06, 2018 6:26 pm

I just received a brand new USA L2500 drop shipped direct from G&L and the top and back are pretty rough. There are what appear to be polishing wheel tracks and smudges all over. See the pics. There is also some sort of filler under the b string side of the nut. Bad quality control? This can’t be normal or acceptable right? I love the feel and sound otherwise. This is the fourth USA G&L I’ve owned and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Please advise.

Should not come out of the factory in that condition.

Contact the selling dealer for resolution - this is your first stop. Failing that, you can contact G&L Service directly at 714-897-6766 ext 156 or send an email.

Allow a day or so for a response.

Thanks. Do you agree that this isn’t normal? Too bad. I love the bass otherwise.

I do not have the bass in front of me and I do not know its history, so I can only speak in generalities.

Having said that, if it came from the factory with flaws such as those seen in your photos, then no it is not normal.

Thanks a lot for the fine customer service here. I'm bummed about the bass though. I love the way the bass sounds and feels. Too bad it left the shop the way it did.

Any updates would likely come via email from Memo, as I don't have access.

The bass was probably in shipping for 4 days, so they got it around the 12th (give or take). Sometimes these things take time, so hang in there.
