Here is a clip of me playing my 1986 El Toro with a band. We are doing an Allman Bros. tune, which I also post in memory of Greg Allman who died on Saturday. A few rough spots in the playing, but we had just learned the song. https://goo.gl/photos/MdaQnL4WBRewHpiv8

This is a clip of an '81 L1000.
The player, Marcin Pendowsky is in Poland and does a great job showcasing all the L1000's tones.

Here is another bassist from Poland, his group is called Bullfinch. His L2500 has been converted to 100% passive, but still sounds great.

Here are two very in-depth sound recording (with minimal visual aids) showcasing the L2500 in every mine, every pickup configuration.

And lastly (for now) a clip of two Kiloton 4's at Rocket Music store in Blacksburg, Va

HI Guys,
I thought Id post some short audio clips from the first session I did this bass:

This is a 2008 G&L L2500 (setting: active Pre w/ series OMG mod, Both Pup, Vol 85%, T75%, B70%) into a 1953 Magnecorder, flat EQ, nothing else in the channel strip. For clip #2, we pushed the Magnecorder for more bite/crunch.

*These clips are just the RAW audio tracks bounced from the stereo out bus (No EQ/mix/etc) so its a pretty transparent image of the bass into the Magnecorder.

Thanks Tomvl (I'm guessing your comment was in my direction :D )

Yeah, I had been play my 73 Jazz for decades trying to sonically "bend it to my will". Once I went low B, I searched many different basses/pups/pre configurations only to still "need/want" something each couldn't offer (usually either too HI-FI, or Lo-fi). The L2500 really hits my sweet spot. I still haven't mastered the mids but having the Series OMG/SC-outer/Parallel switching has really helped. I'm gonna try a run with SC-Inner and work more with the Pre+Trb boost to seek out other possibilities in the mIds.

PS> and my string search is still on (I believe that recording was Fodera Mid-Lights w/130 B) Ive been digging the TI rounds for feel but they don't growl and bark as much as Id like.

HI Tomvl
NIce clip! The Bass has a nice round/firm tone, very buttery/chesty but not muddy. Any compression on that track or just the Eden? (DI post or pre?)

My band.
By then I'd had the L-2500 for only a few weeks.

Recording of my 1983 L1000. Parallel switch setting. Bass tuned down one whole step. Recorded in Garageband, clean amp setting w a little compression:
