SB-1 pickup wiring help

Seeing as how we are fortunate to count Paul Gagon as a member here, it seemed like a good time to give him a home to stretch out in and relax a little. Maybe exercise the grey matter and present a little history of the guitar and bass (amps too!) from his perspective as one of the eminent designers of our time.

Got questions? Great! Good questions might be, "What kind of windings are on the S500 pickup and why?" Or, "What was the thought process behind the MJ-4?" Troubleshooting questions should remain in the regular forums (he reads those too). Finally, please be mindful of how I feel about tech questions via PM or email.

SB-1 pickup wiring help

I am looking for a little help with wiring a SB-1 pickup in a traditional P bass wire harness?
Here is the harness that will be used, I have found the G&L SB-1 diagram but still a little confused on how to wire?

Where did this circuit come from? It doesn't look like a G&L SB-1 or a Precision circuit.

You could use either a Precision circuit (which this does not appear to be) or a second generation SB-1 circuit. If the pots are 250K and the cap .047µF, you could re-wire this to be either a Precision or SB-1 circuit then connect or adapt the SB-1 pickup in. I'd recommend the SB-1 circuit because it's something we can follow.
