OMG!!! Mode, that is. This is the forum for a true G&L monster, the L-1000. Simple, passive, and huge, the Wunkay speaks volumes for the G&L sound.

Hello Everyone.

So great to be here.

Looking for some advice and help

My L1000 : had my case teeter and fall on the volume knob (the controls on mine have the rear route and no plate)

The volume know smashed into the front into the wood. Of course it still works, but traveling with it is no longer an option as it looks like hell and it's not stable.
So I was wundering if getting a L1000 Plate would solve the issue.

Thinking maybe I have my tech route the top, drop in the plate and reattach the electronics.

Not sure if this would work.

I emailed G&L support but got no answer.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Cutting a plate is not really an option for me as like, who's gonna do that.

I appreciate any ideas to get this thing up again and back in the stable ..

Thanks all
MK

Yikes!

Yeah, a CLF-style plate might do it. Routing for it would be a pain because of the existing rear rout, but ought to be doable. The alternative would be to repair the break, but this would probably force a refinish.

When you contacted G&L, did you try Repairs? Memo sometimes doesn't get back right away, but he doesn't usually miss. Anyway, he would be the one to ask about availability.
