L1000 - Bad wiring paths?

My understanding is that the aluminum posts were developed when Dale Hyatt was fighting neck-dive on the ASAT bass prototype in 1989. Dale was trying to shave weight, including a 1 1/2 inch neck, and Helmut Schaller provided some aluminum posts which soon after replaced the brass tapered posts on all G&L basses. In this case, what is poly short for? Polymer? Polyester? Polypropylene?

I'm in the process of returning my '83 L-1000 back to it's original electronic configuration after a lot of misguided youthful indiscretion and well-intentioned mods. Very little of the original wiring remains. I want to be as sure as is possible that I'm getting it as close to stock as is possible.
