That initial run, which was one helluva surprise, is complete, and I'd guess that the basses from it are in player's hands.

So, you might give a dealer a call and ask them to contact G&L as to availability. Rocket Music might be able to help with this.

I'm afraid you can't. They only made a handful of them, and I bought the last 2 they had for a customer about a month ago...

Maybe they'll bring them back down the road...

I don't know if it's ok to post this Ken, but here's an L-1000 with alnico pickup for sale and the price is good: http://www.martinmusicguitar.com/store/ ... -3264.html

Feel free to delete that link if it is against forum rules, I checked and didn't see anything against it.

I'd prefer it down in Treasures, but you can leave it here if you want. Kinda fits, actually.

I may have the opportunity of buying one of these and I'm interested because it has a maple neck and my otherwise perfect Wunkay has, less favoured to me, rosewood and I don't really like the dark red colour. Total vanity.
I am interested in the newer, empress body only if I can be s comfortable with the sound as I am with my old'n.

Any other comments from the OP, now some months have passed with your rather gorgeous bass in your ownership?

Does anyone else have one of these with the alnico pups who can comment on a sound comparison with an older Wunkay?

( I can't go and try the bass in which I'm interested, wrong side of the water!
