Got a Carvin MB1515 Stack coming.

A home for all the other parts of the happy equation that we call bass. Factory stuff, home built, kits - it's all good.

...and so it continues. Meaning, the gear whoring. ;)

I remember telling you about playing an MB12 at my late brother's church. I have since been back there a few times to help out his temporary replacement (who also happens to be in a band with me) and that combo still sounds sweet. Next time I go there I should try out one of my G&L basses with that combo.

Copy/paste of a quick review I did across the street:

So far so good! Got it and set it up. Played one of my electrics through it.

First impressions:
--Punchy! Man...Seriously!
--Articulate! Man....Seriously!
--Very responsive to EQ.
--Just like the reviews say, it's not the combo is you crave lots of low end. Mid focused. But NOT treble-y or thin, either.
--IMO, very handsome and well built cab. Except for the Carvin logo. If this is a keeper the logo's have to go! Sorry, Carvin.

I have not tried my L2000 or my Full Circle equipped upright through the MB15. I will get a chance later today. From the specs both should work just fine.

I did run a quick and imprecise (Unprecise? Inprecise??) freq test through the single MB15 with a pink noise generator from my iPad and my iPhone as the mic. Seems like a "peak" from roughly 500 - 2,000 hz. The peak is more of a "mesa", though, as it's a "flat peak" from 500 - 2,000 hz, if that makes sense. I split the diff and set the para mids at about 1.2 k and cut about 6 db. DEFINITELY made a diff. That's about all I did, EQ-wise. Shoot......Even set flat I really dig the tone! I think it should really work well as a stage monitor and as a low/medium level stage amp.

I've got an outdoor gig this weekend, so I'll use the whole stack and see how it works.

It sure is a cute little sucker! So far I'm a happy camper!
