What're You Guys Using For "Stand-alone" Preamps?

A home for all the other parts of the happy equation that we call bass. Factory stuff, home built, kits - it's all good.

I was using a Trace Elliot Transit-B preamp for a while on bass, but I started having noise issues with it. I had the BBE Acoustimax handy because I used it for acoustic guitar, so I plugged bass into it. It works fine, is simple to use, and has some nice features, but doesn't get overbearing with them. I for one don't want to spend more time programming a unit than I do playing through it, so the Acoustimax works for me.

Yup. Works great. Just turn off the notch filter.
