Yamaha BB 3000s

You mean there are other basses? :D This is where those discussions go.

These basses are very tough to find. Near as I can tell they started to make them in the mid 1980's.
They are neck through with Alder body wings. They have a P/J pickup setup. Alright, but what makes these basses so sought after ? How much is a good one worth?

The BB3000S was introduced to the American market in 1982. They were made in Japan until the later '80's, when production shifted to Taiwan. The materials, construction, playability, and sound are astonishing. They were offered in white, black, and natural. Mine is a 1982 in natural. I bought it locally 3 years ago for $300 with the original case. The owner advertised at $500 for a long time and the bass did not sell, so I made an offer and he accepted. Let me know if you want more specs or details.
